Her Ladyship Justice Janet Anima Maafo, Supervising High Court Judge of Tema, has inaugurated a District Court at Kpone. The new court, situated in the heart of the Kpone-Katamanso Municipality, forms part of ongoing efforts by the Judicial Service to ensure that every individual, regardless of location or circumstance, has access to a fair and just legal system.

The Honourable Lady Chief Justice, Justice Gertrude Sackey Torkornoo, has performed the official opening of the Criminal Assizes at the Law Court Complex, Accra, with an announcement to reform and expand the country’s jury system. The ceremony marked the first anniversary of the launch of her landmark “LEADing Justice Vision”.

The Judicial Service of Ghana has entreated the legal fraternity, especially, members of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA) to employ the Court Connected Alternative Dispute Resolution (CCADR) mechanism in resolving commercial disputes to alleviate the burden on courts.

The Judicial Service of Ghana, in its bid to empower court officials to actively promote Court Connected Alternative Dispute Resolution (CCADR), has organized an intensive one-day workshop for Registrars and Clerks in the Ashanti Region, at the Court of Appeal Complex in Kumasi.

A Justice of the Court of Appeal with oversight responsibility for Court-Connected Alternative Dispute Resolution (CCADR), Her Ladyship Justice Angelina Mensah-Homiah, has called on Mediators to uphold and preserve their integrity, as their actions directly impact on the trust and confidence citizens have in the courts.  

In order to bridge knowledge gaps on Commercial Justice CCADR and encourage positive actions in the alternative justice delivery system, Judges and Magistrates in the Ashanti Region of Ghana have undergone a sensitization workshop as part of the ADR Week in Kumasi.
