CLUSTER OF COURTS COMMISSIONED
One of the courts will deal with criminal cases involving juveniles, while two will deal with civil cases involving the rights of the child. The fourth will serve as a full-fledged normal court to handle a mixture of criminal and civil cases including comparatively minor domestic violence cases, as well as divorce, customary marriages and landlord-tenant cases.

A unique feature of the courts is the beautifully designed child-friendly waiting room for children who may be in court as child witnesses in civil or criminal cases.

The services of these courts cover the whole of Accra except Madina and beyond, in view of the distances involved.

A Circuit Court Judge, Mrs. Georgina Mensah-Datsa, has been assigned to oversee the courts.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Chief Justice Wood said the importance of justice delivery in matters affecting women and children cannot be overemphasised. She entreated magistrates, panel members, Judicial Service staff and other support staff who will work at the court to treat persons who access their services with dignity and respect.
