The Lady Chief Justice, Mrs. Justice Georgina T. Wood, under the delegated authority of His Excellency the President, Prof. John Evans Atta Mills, swore in 16 new High Court Judges. Out of the number, eleven were promoted from the Circuit Court while five came from the Bar. The new judges are Justice Alex Owusu Ofori, Justice Richard Adjei-Frimpong, Justice Emmanuel Siameh, Justice Charles A. Wilson, Justice Ernest Obimpe, Justice Daniel Mensah, Justice Kofi Akrowiah, Justice Edward K. B. Apenkwah, Justice Beresford Acquah, Justice George Buadi, Justice Amos Buertey, Justice George Ato Mills-Graves, Justice Peter Kwabena Ababio, Mrs. Justice Bartels- Kodwo, Mrs. Justice Barbara Ward Acquah and Mrs. Justice Jennifer Akua Tagoe.
His Excellency the President, Professor John Evans Atta Mills, on Wednesday, 7th July 2010 swore in three new Justices of the Court of Appeal at a ceremony at the Castle, Osu. Two of the judges, His Lordship Justice Senyo Dzamefe and Her Ladyship Mrs. Justice Agnes Mercy Abla Dordzie were promoted from the High Court while the third one, His Lordship Mr. Justice Dennis Dominic Adjei, came from the Bar.
The 3rd Annual Lady Chief Justice’s Mentoring Programme has come off at the Chief Justice’s Court in the Supreme Court Building in Accra. The programme which was introduced on the judicial calendar by Lady Chief Justice Mrs. Georgina Theodora Wood is designed to expose students of second cycle institutions to the work of the Judiciary in the hope that they may consider a future career at the Bar and on the Bench.
