Variation Of Motor Traffic Cases Dealt With By The District Courts |

Pursuant to sections 52 and 53 of the Courts Act, 1993 Act 459 copy of which is attached I direct all supervising High Court Judges and other Superior Court Judges designated by me to vary all motor traffic offences dealt with by the District courts in your area of jurisdiction since October 3, 2008.

Review of Motor Offences Dealt With By District And Circuit Courts |

Having observed that some courts have since October 3, 2008 been applying provisions of the Road Traffic Act 2004, Act 683 which had been amended, I direct all courts which have handled motor traffic offence cases since the said date to compile a list of the cases and submit same to the Supervising High Court Judge in the Region where their courts are situated except Greater Accra Region.

Amendment Of The Road Traffic Act 2004, Act 683 |

It has come to my notice that despite the passage of the ROAD TRAFFIC (Amendment) ACT 2008, Act 761 by Parliament, which amended THE ROAD TRAFFIC ACT 2004, ACT 683, some courts are still applying the penalties and sanctions applicable under the amended law. |
