an invitation from her Nigerian counterpart to lead a delegation of
Ghanaian Superior Court Judges and officials of the Ghana Shippers’
Council to the 10th Maritime Seminar for Judges of the Nigerian Superior
Courts scheduled to take place in Abuja, Nigeria, from 24th to 26th

NEW LAWYERS CALLED TO THE BAR |
The
names of 36 newly qualified lawyers from the Ghana School of Law were
added to the Roll of Lawyers on 31st January 2008 at a special meeting
in Accra of the General Legal Council chaired by Her Ladyship the
Chief Justice, Mrs. Justice Georgina T. Wood. This was the second
time in the 2007/2008 Legal Year that the meeting had been called.read

Castle, Osu – NINE Justices of the Court of Appeal were sworn
into office by the President of Ghana, John Agyekum Kufuor, on the
26th day of March 2008, with a call on them to dispense justice without
fear or favour. The Judges took three oaths: the Oath of Allegiance, the Judicial Oath and the Oath of Secrecy. read more |

KUFOUR NOMINATES FOUR JUDGES FOR SUPREME COURT |

John Agyekum Kufuor has nominated four judges to the Supreme Court.
The nominations were made by the President on the recommendations of the Council of State and the Judicial Council. The Judges are Mr Justice Paul Baffoe Bonnie, Mr Justice Anim Yeboah, Mr Justice Dotse and Ms Justice R.C. Owusu. read more |

OF COURTS COMMISSIONED |

Her
Ladyship the Ghanaian Chief Justice, Mrs. Justice Georgina Wood, has
commissioned a cluster of four courts in Accra. The four courts, all
housed in one building in the ministries area near the beach, will
deal exclusively and on a daily basis, with juvenile and family cases.
